Hugs and Kisses for Special Olympics Scarf

Designed by Christina Burbage (Girlieknitwit)

Use Red Heart Cherry Red and Red Heart White Yarn. Size 10US needles.


Begin with first color and change colors at each pattern repeat or switch colors as you would like. Both colors should be used.

Scarf will be about 5” wide and 57” long after about 17 pattern repeats.


Cast On 26 stiches using your desired casting method


Row 1 : Knit across

Row 2: K1, P1, Knit 22, P1, K1

Row 3: K1, P1, Knit 22, P1, K1

Row 4 : K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Row 5 : K1, P3, K8, P2, K8, P3, K1

Row 6 : K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Row 7 : K1, P3, C2x2 (back) C2x2 (front), P2, C2x2 (front) C2x2 (back), P3, K1

Row8: K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Row 9 : K1, P3, K8, P2, K8, P3, K1

Row 10 : K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Row 11 : K1, P3, C2x2 (front) C2x2 (back), P2, C2x2 (back) C2x2 (front), P3, K1

Row 12: K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Row 13 : K1, P3, K8, P2, K8, P3, K1

Row 14 : K1, P1, K2, P8, K2, P8, K2, P1, K1

Change colors.

Repeat Rows 4-19 for pattern 17 times or as needed for desired length

End with :

K1, P1, Knit 22, P1, K1 (twice)

Knit Across

Bind off

    I have forwarded your question to the person who designed the scarf. I tried the email you listed and it came back to me saying it doesn't exist. Do you have another email she can contact you at?

  3. I'm sorry, those were my abbreviations and I meant to put the key to them on there. Guess I got too excited and forgot to do it.

    C2x2 is the cabling stitch. so, c2x2 back is slip 2 stiches, hold to to the back and knit the next two stiches then knit the slipped stiches and the c2x2 front you slip the stiches and hold them in front. my abb was meant to be c for cable. Sorry.
